The program also helped around 300,000 farmers buy agricultural inputs worth Rs30 billion.
Officials said 538,000 farmers were required to repay Rs67 billion in loans. So far, they have repaid Rs57 billion in instalments, helping the government achieve nearly 86% of its recovery target.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the Kisan Card scheme is improving the lives of farmers across the province. She said the initiative is reducing farmers’ dependence on middlemen and helping them achieve financial stability and prosperity.
