The government of Punjab has decided to develop Kotli Sattian into a modern tourism hub.
A total of fourteen tourism projects have been approved for the area, including the establishment of a glamping pod village and resort.
Sky Glass Bridge, Paragliding Centre planned to boost tourism
In a major push to boost adventure tourism, the Punjab government has announced the establishment of the province’s first modern paragliding centre in Kotli Sattian. The initiative aims to transform the scenic hill station into a premier destination for thrill-seekers and nature lovers.
As part of the development plan, authorities will also construct a state-of-the-art sky glass bridge, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and creating a unique attraction for visitors.
Officials believe the project will significantly increase tourist footfall and generate new economic opportunities for the local community.
In addition, a new chairlift project has received formal approval to enhance accessibility further and improve the visitor experience. Meanwhile, the existing chairlift in Patra Basti will undergo repairs and upgrades to meet modern safety and operational standards.
The projects are expected to create employment opportunities, strengthen the local economy, and place Kotli Sattian firmly on the map as a leading tourism hub in the region.
Projects approve in a high-level meeting
The project’s approval was granted during a high-level meeting jointly chaired by the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz , and fomrer prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The package is being described as the largest development initiative in the history of Murree. The special meeting was held at Government House, Murree.
According to a briefing presented during the meeting, a 50-bed hospital will be constructed in Bhurban, along with a dedicated water supply scheme and a bus stand. The participants also agreed to extend the Murree Glass Train Project from Islamabad Airport to Muzaffarabad.
The meeting further decided to restore Murree’s historical buildings in accordance with their original architectural designs. A separate department will be established to preserve and protect the city’s historical and cultural heritage.
Plans were also approved for the construction of standard hotels in designated areas, the development of a luxury hotel complex, and the construction of three-story buildings aimed at creating parks and green spaces. Additionally, structured development will be undertaken to widen the road in Upper Chhari Street.
