KP CM Afridi to get full-proof security on Lahore visit

LAHORE: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi will get foolproof security during his visit to Lahore today.

As per details, the Chief Minister is scheduled to land in Lahore today on a three-day visit, where he is expected to hold meetings with party leaders and address the media.

According to sources, the government of Punjab has ordered detailed security arrangements for the visiting CM Sohail Afridi.

The Punjab government has directed the police to provide foolproof security to CM Afridi during his stay in Lahore.

Sources revealed that Lahore Police officially contacted the security team of the chief minister but the complete schedule of his visit has not yet been shared with the city Police.

CM KP announces massive protests as TTAP calls for 8 Feb strike

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced preparations for a countrywide movement.

The opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP), as a result, announced a wheel jam strike on February 8, 2026.

The date is the same as which the 2024 elections were conducted. And the PML-N government was formed as a result.

TTAP also formed a committee headed by Vice Chairman Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, with Haleem Adil Sheikh, Zain Shah and others to manage the committees at the provincial and district level.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf leaders (PTI) were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the May 9 GOR Gate attack case after carrying out voilent protests across Pakistan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been acquitted in the same case. ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill announced the decision at Kot Lakhpat Jail.

The court sentenced Dr Yasmin Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry to ten years in prison.

The court handed down a ten-year prison term to Mehmoodur Rasheed as well. However, Shah Mahmood Qureshi was acquitted in the case.
