Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi has sent a formal letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to facilitate family meetings with Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the letter, the Chief Minister noted that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are currently in detention at Adiala Jail. He highlighted that the issue of family visits has been raised previously to ensure compliance with legal requirements and humanitarian principles.
The Chief Minister stated in his letter that Eid-ul-Fitr is an important religious festival, during which the right to meet family and close relatives should be granted— a right that also applies legally to detainees.
