14 cops suspended over corruption, drug smuggling in KP’s Khyber district

PESHAWAR: At least 14 KP police officials of Khyber district have been suspended for their alleged involvement in corruption, drug smuggling and other illegal activities.

According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, the suspended cops have been ordered to report to Police Lines Khyber district.

The police officials revealed that four SHOs have also been issued show-cause notices over negligence in duties. DPO Khyber district has called for explanation and demanded a written reply within 7 days.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police CCPO said that there is no place for corrupt and dishonest officials in the provincial police.

Amid the recent sharp rise in terrorist incidents across the province, only honest and duty-conscious officers and personnel will remain in the police force, the CCPO added.

KP CM return bulletproof vehicles

Earlier, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had refused to accept the three bulletproof vehicles handed over by the Interior Ministry, terming them “substandard” and instructing police to return them.

He said his government would procure new vehicles using provincial resources.

However, official sources clarified that although the vehicles were not new, they were fully serviceable and suitable for operational use.

Eight Fitna al Khwarij Terrorists Killed in Tank District

Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank district following reports about the presence of Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij militants.

On 24 October 2025, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij, Security Forces conducted an intelligence based operation in Tank District.”

During the operation, the troops engaged the terrorists’ positions, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire.

Eight militants were killed in the encounter.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain individuals, who had been involved in multiple terrorist attacks targeting security forces, law enforcement personnel, and innocent civilians.
