The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has launched a province-wide ranking system for public and private universities, with data collection already underway in Peshawar.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch a university ranking system across the province.
To this end, data collection for ranking public and private universities has started in Peshawar.
All universities have been asked to submit the required information for the exercise.
The deadline to submit data is February 16.
Universities will be ranked based on 12 performance indicators that cover both academic and administrative standards.
Instructions have been issued to ensure the timely submission of information, and an online meeting on the ranking system is scheduled for January 29.
The move is expected to improve higher education standards.
Security alert for Swat educational institutions
The Deputy Commissioner of Swat has issued a security alert for all educational institutions across the district and directed administrations to strengthen security measures in light of the current situation.
According to an official letter issued, schools, colleges, and universities, especially girls’ institutions, have been placed on high alert after reports of incidents targeting educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Administrations have been instructed to take precautionary steps to make sure of the safety of students and staff.
Additionally, to monitor entry and exit points closely, and increase surveillance inside and around campuses.
All institutions have also been told to immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities and maintain constant communication.
Additionally, to coordinate closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure effective security.
Copies of the threat alert have been forwarded to police and intelligence agencies in order to make sure of coordinated and effective security arrangements.
Officials said that communication between the district administration, educational institutions, and security agencies has been stepped up to further improve preparedness and prevent any unwanted incidents.
