An employee of the Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) hospital, in Islamabad, jumped off the hospital building on Monday morning in an apparent suicide attempt and died.
According to police sources, the deceased, identified as Umar Mukhtar, was employed as a laboratory technician at KRL Hospital.
Police said he arrived for duty in the morning and allegedly jumped from the hospital’s third floor.
The incident took place within the limits of Karachi Company police station.
Officials said Umar Mukhtar died on the spot. Initial information suggests the 48-year-old was a father of five.
Police said the reasons behind the incident could not immediately be determined, while further investigation is under way.
