In Kurram, terrorists attacked a police checkpost. Heavy weapons are being used by both sides. Additional police reinforcements have been called in. According to initial reports, two terrorists have been neutralised in the attack, while three police personnel are reported to be injured.
On 22 March 2026, in the Central Kurram area, the Jabo Police Station was attacked by Fitna al-Khawarij as they were conducting construction work there.
Two Khawarij were killed in the exchange of fire.
At the site, labourers were engaged in their activities, and some police personnel were deployed for security duty.
Fitna al-Khawarij demanded to stop the construction work, which caused armed fighting between the police and the terrorists resulting in two Khawarij being sent to hell.
Not only that, Fitna al-Khawarij also kidnapped some labourers and police personnel.
Later negotiations were made after taking local elders into confidence after which the kidnapped labourers were safely recovered and released.
During this time, further contingents of the police also arrived on the scene and controlled the situation.
This incident again draws attention to the fact that Fitna al-Khawarij has no respect for innocent lives, and value for human beings.
These elements under the pretext of so called ideology wanted to target the ordinary people and sow fear and panic in the area.
This attack is an obvious proof that Fitna al-Khawarij are in reality enemies of the local population.
It is important that the state and the public join forces against such elements to ensure the establishment of a permanent peace in the region.
On another note, yesterday in Kurram, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited troops and officers at Eid-ul-Fitr where he offered Eid prayers with them, praying for the continued stability and prosperity of Pakistan.
During his interaction with the personnel, he extended his warm Eid greetings and praised them for their unflinching commitment and high morals and professionalism in protecting the country.
According to ISPR, the Field Marshal praised the valour and dedication of the Jawans, noted their performance during Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq which has been aimed at the eradication of the terrorist networks and ensuring peace in border areas.
He assured that terrorist elements operating from across the border in Afghanistan would not be allowed to threaten Pakistan’s security.
Reaffirming the Pakistan’s position on regional stability, he stated that Afghan soil must not be used against Pakistan by hostile actors.
The Field Marshal recognized the effortless work put forth by the formations and credited operational success to the sacrifices of the martyrs and determination of the serving officers and soldiers.
He expressed great pride in the ability of the troops. Upon his arrival, he was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar with warmth.
