The Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Kuwait has announced relief for employees including Pakistani workers stranded outside the country due to the closure of airspace.
According to a report by Al-Seyassah, the commission said that employees unable to return to Kuwait because of the circumstances will be exempt from rules related to absence from work.
In an official statement, the CSC said that the period during which Pakistani employees remain stranded abroad will be treated as actual working time until they are able to return to Kuwait.
The commission has also contacted government agencies, public institutions and other authorities to address the situation of employees who are currently unable to travel back due to the regional developments.
Officials said the exemption period will be determined by the employee’s direct supervisor or the next higher authority after the end of the worker’s approved leave or holiday period, during which they were expected to return.
Employees will be required to provide documents confirming their presence outside the country during this time so that the period can be recorded as official working time in the automated system in accordance with established procedures.
