The passengers are facing inconvenience after the technical fault affected the official website of Lahore International Airport, and the information of flights is disrupted.
According to sources, the airport’s website suffered a technical malfunction that also suspended the online flight schedule, which found it difficult for passengers to check the timings of landing and departure.
Airport authorities explained that the IT team is taking active steps to resolve the problem and bring the website back to normal as quickly as possible for normal services to resume.
A days earlier, around 180 passengers set to fly to Lahore were left stranded for hours at Karachi airport after a flight delay.
According to reports, a domestic flight, PF-145, to Lahore was postponed.
The boarding cards were issued to these passengers instantly, but they were forced to wait in the domestic departure lounge of the Karachi airport.
A lack of clear communication from airline staff was the issue, the passengers complained.
The airline said the delay was due to scheduled maintenance and added that refreshments were provided to passengers.
Increase in the price of jet fuel
Earlier, a record hike of 82 per cent was announced by the Pakistani government for the commercial flights.
Now, the new price of jet fuel is Rs342.37 per litre.
Fuel is one of the largest expenses for the aviation industry, and even small increases can have a noticeable impact on ticket prices.
Ticket prices for Pakistan increase
Airline sources have confirmed that fares in Pakistan have increased due to the spike in jet fuel costs.
Domestic tickets have reportedly risen by Rs2,800 to Rs5,000 on routes such as Karachi–Lahore and Karachi–Islamabad.
International travel has seen an even steeper hike, with fares increasing by Rs10,000 to Rs28,000. Flights to Middle Eastern and Central Asian destinations have become about Rs15,000 more expensive.
Meanwhile, tickets from Pakistan to Toronto and Manchester have surged by around Rs28,000, pushing the one-way fare beyond Rs250,000.
