Lahore Board Introduces Bio-metric Attendance System

Lahore Board introduces new system to prevent cheating

LAHORE: The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has introduced a bio-metric attendance system to ensure transparency in the examination process and take action against fake candidates.

According to the Lahore Board spokesperson, the biometric system aims to discourage candidates from appearing in exams under fake identities.

This system was initially implemented as a test in the Matriculation Second Annual Examinations, where more than two hundred students were biometrically verified.

According to the spokesperson, this system has now been fully implemented in the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations as well.

More than 35,000 candidates will participate in the current examination session, all of whose attendance will be recorded biometrically.

According to sources, under the biometric system, the fingerprints and identity details of each candidate will be matched with the NADRA records so that fake candidates can be identified.

It should be noted that for the past few years, various education boards of Punjab have been facing increasing incidents of cheating and fake candidates in examinations.

The Lahore board has decided to control this trend by using modern technology.

The spokesperson said that strict action will be taken against candidates who appear for the examination using fake identity.

The board says that the biometric system will not only make the examination process transparent but will also promote an atmosphere of trust and merit among the students.
