Key details have emerged from the initial investigation into the death of Doctor Ahmed Latif, whose body was found in a car parked at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore.
According to police and family sources, personal issues following a love marriage and subsequent divorce may have contributed to Dr. Latif’s death.
Family sources said Dr. Ahmed had married two years ago and had a daughter. However, after divorcing his wife a few months back, he reportedly suffered from severe depression.
Dr. Ahmed had not returned home for the past three days, prompting his family to contact the hospital administration. Police confirmed that hospital records show he had also been absent from duty for the last two days.
The case came to light when security guards noticed a foul smell from a car in the parking area and informed the management. Police found Dr. Ahmed dead in the driver’s seat when the vehicle was opened.
During the investigation, police found the car keys inside the vehicle, and his seatbelt was fastened. His mobile phone was switched off, and anti-depression medication was recovered from the car.
Police are examining all aspects of the case to determine the exact cause of death. Initial evidence suggests mental stress and related circumstances may have played a role.
