Lahore hosts Pakistan’s largest marathon ever

Lahore hosts the largest marathon race in Pakistan’s history on Sunday.

Children, adults, and people with disabilities participated.

National Marathon & Cycling Race 2026 commenced at 6am from Liberty Chowk in Lahore.

More than 11,000 athletes and citizens from across the country participated.

A 21-kilometre marathon and a 21-kilometre cycling race were organised for men. For women, a five-kilometre marathon and a five-kilometre cycling race were arranged. Families took part in a two-kilometre fun race, while a one-kilometre wheelchair race was reserved for persons with disabilities.

Strict security arrangements were put in place by the administration. A special traffic plan was devised to maintain the flow of traffic, and citizens were advised to use alternate routes.
