Lahore Railway Station set for parking boost under new uplift project

Construction of a new state-of-the-art parking project has begun outside the historic Lahore Railway Station. The project will increase the station’s parking capacity by 250 to 300 vehicles.

The project has been launched with the support of the Punjab government. The new parking facility will accommodate hundreds of vehicles.

Separate bridge to be constructed for passengers

Under the mega development project, a dedicated bridge will be constructed to facilitate passengers travelling from Lahore Railway Station to different areas of the city.

The bridge will be connected through newly built link roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.

In addition, a separate, well-designed access road and a modern parking facility will be developed for passengers arriving at and departing from the station.

Work on the project is progressing at a fast pace. Upon completion, the upgraded parking facility at Lahore Railway Station will match the standards of Allama Iqbal International Airport, offering improved convenience and better traffic management for commuters.

Project work progressing rapidly

Work on the project is progressing rapidly. According to Deputy Director LDA Project, Faisal Shafi, the Punjab government’s project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The project will increase the parking capacity of Lahore Railway Station by 250 to 300 vehicles.

It will also provide a dedicated access road for thousands of passengers, ensuring smooth entry to the station without obstruction. Furthermore, it will facilitate easier exits for passengers leaving the station toward Basani and other areas. Highways passing near the railway station will be connected through newly constructed link roads, and separate roads are being developed to provide better access to different parts of the city.

It is worth mentioning here that a meeting was held at the Railway Headquarters in December last year under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi.

In the meeting Minister appreciated the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for sustainable development, stating that the development plan around Lahore Railway Station would prove to be a game-changer for the entire area.
