Under the vision of Chief Minister of Punjab the administration of the city of Lahore district has been busy to increase measures for safety just to celebrate Basant responsibly.
According to the officials, roof inspection is being done throughout the district and notices are being served to the owners of buildings and houses with unsafe or risky roof.
The process of checking dangerous rooftops and pasting warning notices is being strictly monitored to ensure compliance.
The administration is also organizing door-to-door awareness campaigns and outreach programs in educational campuses to educate the citizens on safe Basant celebrations and safety precautions required.
Along with public awareness drive, the installation of safety rods in motorcycles is being carried on.
Authorities have directed that along with Basant decorations, messages of public safety issues must be prominently displayed all around the city.
Emphasizing the importance of precautionary measures, The Deputy Commissioner Lahore said that Basant celebration must go hand in hand with public safety.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the district administration is visiting the neighborhoods door to door to spread the message of safe celebrations.
He added that all arrangements are being made to ensure that the cultural festival is held in a peaceful, secure and pleasant environment.
The administration has urged the citizens to cooperate and adhere to the safety guidelines so that Basant can be enjoyed responsibly and without any incident.
Previously, with Basant approaching Punjab authorities stepped up safety arrangements by distributing one million protective rods to motorcyclists at 100 designated points across the city local media reported.
Officials confirmed Lahore has been divided into three operational zones to ensure smooth movement and public safety with the safety initiative costing over Rs110 million.
Areas have been classified based on risk and crowd density including 48 Red Zones in Walled City Lahore 32 Yellow Zones in Ichhra, and 20 Green Zones in Liberty.
To enforce regulations around 100 road safety camps have been established staffed by district administration officials traffic police and rescue teams.
Strict checks are also in place with motorcycles and loader rickshaws barred from roads without helmets.
Meanwhile the Punjab government has announced a free shuttle bus service for Basant days to ease congestion.
Nearly 695 buses will operate on routes connecting Muridke, Sharaqpur, Raiwind, Manga Mandi and Kasur with key entry points of Lahore aiming to provide safer and smoother travel during the festival.
