Messi fans excited: Football icon announces big project after retirement

Lionel Messi to open club after retirement, fans excited

Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi’s fans are excited after he announced surprising plans once he retires from professional soccer.

Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has broken numerous records for his national side and the clubs he plays for.

He surprised his fans after announcing to become a club owner once he says goodbye to football. Inter Miami’s star David Beckham also started his own club after retirement.

Coaching or club ownership

When the 38-year-old Argentina legend was asked what he prefers for his post-retirement time, he opted for club ownership.

“I don’t see myself as a coach, I want to have my own club, start from the bottom and make it big. Being able to give kids the opportunity to develop and achieve something important. If I had to choose, that would appeal to me more,” he added.

Messi Suarez friendship

It is important to mention here that Messi helped his friend, former MLS and FC Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez to introduce fourth-division club Deportivo LSM.

“I want to thank Luis for giving me this opportunity, for inviting me to join him and share this project that he has been working on for many years and that has grown a lot. Being able to be a part of this is an honor. I hope to contribute everything I can to continue growing this club and to be by your side,” Messi said.

Earlier, Lionel Messi was named the best athlete of the 21st century by the Canadian magazine Le Journal de Quebec.

This ranking comes as the first 25 years of the century are completed and highlights 25 of the most influential athletes from around the world.

In the ranking, Messi not only surpassed his longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo but also defeated other global sports stars, including NFL legend Tom Brady.

Earlier this month, Messi led Inter Miami to their first Major League Soccer championship.

He has also been awarded multiple Golden Boot and MVP awards in recent seasons, further cementing his legacy as one of football’s greatest players.
