The first round of peace talks between the United States (US) and Iran has concluded, according to the sources.

The talks have been brokered by Pakistan, as a ceasefire was announced for two weeks after a 40-day-long war between the two countries.

The Iranian government clarified in a statement released on the social media platform X that the Iran-US talks, mediated by Pakistan, were completed after 14 hours.

It added that technical teams are exchanging written drafts, and despite some remaining differences, the talks will continue.

Meanwhile, Iranian media have also said that some progress has been made in the Islamabad talks.

But the need for further discussions at the expert and technical levels was felt, due to which it was decided that further talks between Iran and the US would be held in Islamabad to finalise these issues.
