Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a high-level meeting with an Iranian delegation during the Islamabad Talks, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.
The Iranian delegation was led by Speaker of Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s constructive engagement in the Islamabad Talks and underscored Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing its role as a mediator. He emphasised the importance of building momentum towards achieving meaningful outcomes in the interest of regional and global peace.
On the Pakistani side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
