A small team led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to land in Islamabad tonight for the second phase of talks , according to government sources.

Following key talks with the Pakistani mediation team, a second round of Islamabad peace talks between the United States and Iran is expected, government sources.

The US logistic and security team is already in Islamabad.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has made telephonic contact with civil and military leadership of Pakistan on Friday, according to Iranian media and the foreign office of Pakistan.

According to the Iranian media, Araghchi made telephonic contact deputy prime minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir and discussed ceasefire with US and regional developments.

According to Pakistan Foreign Office, both sides exchanged views on regional developments, the ceasefire, and ongoing diplomatic efforts being pursued by Islamabad in the context of US-Iran engagement.
