When will Punjab present Budget 2026-27? date announced

A federal budget exceeding Rs17.5 trillion will be presented for the fiscal year 2026-27 on Friday.

The government has set a 4% economic growth target and 8.2% inflation projection, while focusing on fiscal discipline and higher revenue collection.

Preparations for the budget have been completed. The National Economic Council has already approved key macroeconomic targets and development priorities for the next fiscal year.

Under the proposed plan, tax revenue has been estimated at Rs15,267 billion. Non-tax revenue is projected at Rs2,768 billion. The petroleum levy is expected to bring in Rs1,727 billion.

A large share of the budget will go to debt servicing. Around Rs7,824 billion has been allocated for interest payments on loans.

The defence budget is likely to remain close to Rs3,000 billion in the new fiscal plan.

For economic growth, the government has set a 4% target. Inflation is projected at 8.2%, reflecting efforts to balance stability with growth.

Sector-wise targets show agriculture growing by 3.8%, industry by 4%, and large-scale manufacturing by 4.5%. The services sector is expected to expand by 4.2%.
