Pakistan Receives First US Crude Oil Shipment

Pakistan has received its first shipment of crude oil from the United States, marking a major milestone for the country’s energy sector.

The shipment arrived at Cnergyico’s offshore terminal in Balochistan on the vessel MT Pegasus.

Earlier this month, reports said that Cnergyico planned to import one million barrels of oil from Vitol.

According to Usama Qureshi, Vice Chairman of Cnergyico Pakistan Limited, this first delivery is an important step for Pakistan’s energy industry.

He said two more shipments are expected. One in mid-November and another in January 2026.

These three shipments together are expected to improve Pakistan’s trade balance with the US by around $200 million.

Qureshi added that the Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility, Pakistan’s only offshore crude oil terminal, helps large ships dock easily, lowers transport costs, and improves refinery operations.

He said these imports will help Pakistan diversify its crude oil sources, strengthen trade ties with the US, and support long-term energy security.
