The recent update regarding the M-2 motorway is that two of the lanes have been closed temporarily near Khanqah Dogran because of ongoing road repair work, Pakistan’s Motorway Police have said.
The closure affects the northbound section of the motorway, where the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is carrying out patchwork and other maintenance work.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, the second and third lanes have been closed for about 200 to 250 metres to allow repair crews to work safely.
Cones and diversion boards have been placed around the work zone to alert motorists and guide traffic through the affected area.
Motorway Police have advised drivers approaching the repair site to reduce their speed, remain alert and avoid overtaking. Motorists have also been urged to follow traffic signs and instructions from motorway officials.
Authorities said special traffic arrangements were in place to minimise disruption and maintain the flow of vehicles.
Motorists using the M-2 have been advised to allow extra travel time and exercise additional caution while passing through the repair zone.
The temporary lane closures are expected to remain in place while the necessary maintenance work is carried out.
