Pakistan’s young star Maaz Sadaqat delivered another brilliant all-round performance as Pakistan Shaheens claimed a dominant eight wicket win over India A in the Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 in Doha.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, “Maaz Sadaqat carried on his blazing all-round form with a half-century and two wickets.”
His brilliant performance guides Pakistan Shaheens to chase 137 runs comfortably with 40 balls to spare.
The attacking left handed opener was again received player of the match award, his second consecutive award in the tournament.
Maaz remained unbeaten on 79, a knock that included “seven fours and four sixes”, while also producing “miserly bowling figures of 2-12 in three overs including a wicket-maiden.”
Today’s brilliant performance was backed up by his earlier 54-ball 96 not out against Oman, making him the top scorer in the tournament.
The PCB noted that Maaz “picked up his successive player of the match award” and completely controlled the run chase.
He and Mohammad Naeem put on “55 runs… in the Powerplay,” giving Pakistan a flying start.
Maaz then crushed India A’s hopes with a “20-run seventh over, where he hit Naman Dhir for two sixes” bringing up his fifty off just 31 balls.
Even after the strong start, Maaz stayed calm and composed, batting through the innings.
His clam and composed posture after the initial power play coupled with unbeaten 41-run stand with Mohammad Faiq helped him finished the game till the end.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan bowled out India A for 136 in 19 overs with Shahid Aziz’s 3-24 and two wickets each from Maaz and Saad Masood.
The PCB highlighted India A’s collapse of “8-45” after Maaz’s crucial “wicket-maiden 13th over.”
With this victory, Pakistan Shaheens now have two wins in two matches. Maaz Sadaqat remains unbeaten in the tournament firmly establishing himself as Pakistan’s standout rising star and a strong future prospect for Pakistan’s cricket team.
