Pakistani actor, Mahira Khan has said that she often hears about her Nani whenever she posts pictures in sleeveless outfits.
Mahira Khan, who is currently busy promoting her film Neelofar alongside Fawad Khan, revealed that she often receives comments like, “Have you forgotten your Nani?”
It is pertinent to mention that earlier, at an event, Mahira said she used to fear her Nani’s disapproval for wearing sleeveless, and she shared this in a light-hearted manner. However, people have now started trolling her based on this.
She spoke fondly of her late grandmother and spoke about how culture and customs are preserved through generations and how that is the right practice.
She said that though the younger minds are very intelligent but these customs of wearing modest clothing and this tarbiyat is absolutely necessary and this should not change.
In 2021, Mahira’s nani passed away.
“It is an honour to be her granddaughter and I hope to honour her life by living the way she lived – with dignity and courage. While you read this, please make a prayer for my nani,” she said at the time.
She also went on to write, “I am blessed to have had this time with her. We all are. To have looked after her.”
