Renowned Pakistani film actress Mahira Khan has said that in her upcoming movie “Aag Lage Basti Mein,” she had to go against her natural personality to portray her character. She shared that the role is very different from her previous performances as she had to play a more controversial personality something that did not come easily to her. However she said the strong script greatly helped her prepare for the role.
At the trailer launch Fahad Mustafa described the film as a “paisa vasool” (fully entertaining and worth the money) experience. He also mentioned an emotional scene in which his father veteran actor Salahuddin slaps him a moment filled with love and heartfelt prayers.
The film will also mark the big-screen debut of social media star Sumera Shehzadi. Senior actor Javed Sheikh appears as a crime boss while comedian Tabish Hashmi takes on a negative role.
Directed by Bilal Atif Khan the film blends comedy, action and romance. The story revolves around Barakat (Fahad Mustafa) and his wife Almas (Mahira Khan) whose married life becomes entangled between domestic conflicts and criminal adventures.
In the trailer Fahad Mustafa is shown as a man firmly committed to honesty declaring that he would rather die than accept even a scrap earned through theft. In contrast Mahira Khan’s character appears eager to gain wealth quickly and tries to push him toward taking the wrong path.
It is worth mentioning that “Aag Lage Basti Mein,” a joint production of Salman Iqbal Films and Big Bang Films, is set to release in cinemas nationwide this Eid-ul-Fitr.
