Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar has questioned claims about the value of a luxury necklace reportedly worn by his daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, during her recent wedding celebrations.
Safdar challenged those who believe the necklace is worth billions of rupees. He said they could pay Rs1 billion and take it.
The debate began after pictures from Mahnoor Safdar’s wedding appeared online. Mahnoor is the daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain Safdar.
Reportedly, the necklace resembles Mouawad’s Le Soleil high-jewellery necklace, which features a large yellow diamond. Its estimated value is between $12 million and $15 million, or roughly Rs3.3 billion to Rs4.2 billion.
The jewellery attracted widespread attention because of its reported price. Images of the bride wearing the necklace were widely shared online. This led to debate over whether it was actually the expensive Mouawad creation.
The necklace became a major talking point after Mahnoor’s wedding in September.
The discussion also gained attention because Mahnoor belongs to one of Pakistan’s most prominent political families.

The watch is estimated to be worth around $11,000, or approximately Rs3.06 million. It was one of the standout luxury accessories from her wedding look.
Mahnoor Safdar wore a Rolex Lady-Datejust with a two-tone design combining yellow gold and stainless steel. The watch features a black dial with diamond hour markers and is identified as reference number 20201.
The reported price of Mahnoor Safdar’s watch has attracted interest because of the Rolex brand, its premium design and its estimated value.
She paired the luxury watch with her traditional nikah outfit, adding an elegant touch to her wedding-day accessories.
