A court has handed a life sentence to Farrukh Khokhar in the Majid Satti murder case. He was the main accused in the killing.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ejaz Safi announced the verdict. The court found Khokhar guilty of the crime.
Police arrested Khokhar right inside the courtroom after the judge read the ruling. Officers then moved him to Adiala Jail under tight security.
Khokhar was not the only person punished in the case. Two co-accused, Ameer Hamza and Haider Nawaz, also received life sentences earlier.
The court fined all three convicts as well. Each man must pay Rs1 million.
Khokhar Reacts to the Verdict
Khokhar rejected the court’s decision after the ruling. He claimed he was not present when the crime took place.
“I have been wrongly sentenced,” he said. He described the verdict as “an act of revenge.”
He also plans to fight the judgment. Khokhar said he asked his lawyers to file an appeal.
Majid Satti was murdered on August 23, 2022. His death shocked the local community.
Police registered a case at the Sadiqabad police station in Rawalpindi. Investigators then began tracking the accused.
Majid Satti, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reportedly lost his life after resisting a land grab attempt.
The case drew wide attention due to its political links. Many followed the trial closely as it moved through the courts.
The Majid Satti murder case has reached a major milestone with these sentences. Yet the legal fight may not be over.
Khokhar’s appeal could bring the case back before a higher court. For now, all three convicts remain behind bars.
The verdict marks an important step in the search for justice. Satti’s family had waited years for the court’s decision.
The judgment sends a clear message about violent land disputes. Courts continue to treat such crimes with strict punishment.
The Majid Satti case will likely remain in the public eye. Any appeal ruling could shape how similar cases are handled.
