Making TikTok video proves costly for tourists in Naran

A group of tourists, while making a TikTok video, drove their vehicle into the Kunhar River and got stuck in the deep waters in Naran, Mansehra District. According to the police, four friends from Sargodha driving a VEGO, while trying to record a TikTok video, drove their vehicle straight into the Kunhar River in Naran and got stuck due to the strong currents and rising water level. The strong currents swept the vehicle downstream causing panic amongst the stranded tourists. The locals upon seeing the vehicle informed KDA officials, who arrived promptly and managed to rescue the tourists through speed boats and rafts.

According to KDA officials, the vehicle became stuck due to deep water. The timely action by rescue teams helped avert a major tragedy in the busy tourist destination. According to DSP Sadaqat Khan, efforts are underway to retrieve the vehicle that was swept away by the river. Rescue teams are using heavy machinery and specialised equipment during the operation. Authorities have once again advised tourists to stay away from rivers and streams for photography, video making, or recreational activities, particularly during the summer season when water currents become fast and unpredictable.
