Man tries to burn wife and daughters alive

A man tries to burn wife and daughters alive in Lahore after his wife was unable to make rotis for him due to a gas outage across Pakistan.

The horrific incident took place in Lahore’s Shahdara area.

According to the FIR, the man got angry after his wife told him about the gas outage, leading him to lock his wife and three young daughters, aged 3, 1 and one month, in a room and set them on fire.

Luckily, the daughters and their mother came out alive from the room, but they all suffered extreme burns.

After the incident, the man was arrested.

Punjab govt takes action

Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, Hina Parvez Butt, visited Mayo Hospital to meet the woman and her three daughters.

The affected family will be provided with legal, medical, and psychological support, assured Hina Parvez Butt.

She added, “Attempting to burn women and children alive is a grave and unforgivable crime against humanity. Such cruel perpetrators will be made an example of, and the law will act with full force. There is no place in Punjab for those who commit violence against women and children.”

“This is not just an attack on a single family, but an assault on humanity, the sanctity of motherhood, and the innocence of childhood,” she emphasised.

The Punjab Women Protection Authority will fully monitor this case and will not leave the affected family alone, Butt added.

The investigation is underway for the man, while the woman and her daughters are receiving treatment.
