At Pakistan Connect, we fact-checked this information and found out that the viral post about expected snowfall in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills is completely false.

The Fake news

A post was shared in which it was written, “Islamabad’s Margalla Hills Expected to get Snowfall this week” with a caption “Islamabadians. Snow is coming”.

Prior to our fact check, netizens were trolling the platform with comments like “Source=trust me”.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Weather Forecasting Center, Islamabad, “Dry weather is expected over most parts of the country, while cold (very cold during night/morning) in upper areas. Smog (while shallow fog in patches during morning/night) may develop over few plain areas of Punjab,” and this weather pattern will prevail till Tuesday, 18 November, 2025.

What are the preconditions for snowfall to happen in Islamabad?
