Web Desk: IMARAT has made history by becoming the first operator of Marriott International in the region, following its graduation from Marriott’s Fast Track to Franchising Academy (FFA).
Sean Brennan, Director FFA, joined from London to attend the ceremony.
The IMARAT Group of Companies and Marriott International have signed a franchise agreement to launch Residence Inn by Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott in Pakistan.
The group celebrated by sharing on Facebook, “IMARAT becomes the first Marriott International operator in the region, marking history with the graduation of the Fast Track to Franchising Academy. Sean Brennan, Director FFA, joined from London for the ceremony.”
The hotels will begin operations in Islamabad, offering premium accommodation and world-class facilities to mid-to-long-stay guests.
They said this achievement was made possible by the consistent efforts of IMARAT’s management.
The graduation from Marriott’s Fastrack to Franchising Academy marks a new chapter for Pakistan’s hospitality sector.
Guest of honour Sardar Yasir Ilyas, National Coordinator on Tourism to the Prime Minister of Pakistan praised the milestone. He said IMARAT is now preparing to bring world-class wellness hospitality with four upcoming Marriott properties.
Earlier in June 2025, IMARAT had announced on social media that it was on track to complete Marriott International’s Fast Track to Franchising Academy by July 2025. It was celebrated as a key step in securing the license to operate Marriott Hotels in Pakistan.
IMARAT brings global hospitality standards to Pakistan
Since 2016, IMARAT has launched 15 real estate projects in prime locations across Pakistan.
In Islamabad alone, the group has developed a country club, a business district, four hotels. And two luxury apartment complexes, Golf Floras and IMARAT Residences.
According to the group’s official website, auditors critically review financial records to ensure compliance with company policies. And provide assurance on the accuracy of financial statements.
This milestone positions IMARAT as a pioneer in bringing globally recognised hospitality standards to Pakistan.
Pakistan runs its own Marriott by a local company, no more outsourcing abroad
Thanks to IMARAT for becoming the first certified operator of Marriott International in Pakistan. Now, the country will not need to hire international companies anymore.
Tourism is one of the most crucial sectors in Pakistan as it greatly supports the economy.
International hotel chains often avoid partnering with local companies in the hospitality industry, but this has changed for the first time. IMARAT has made history by rewriting that narrative.
