Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz urged citizens to turn their lights off tomorrow from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm to celebrate Earth Hour in the province.

According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to celebrate ‘Earth Hour’ across the province on March 28 to reduce the effects of climate change and conserve energy.

This campaign aims to raise awareness among the public about the proper use of energy and environmental protection.

What does CM Punjab direct to citizens?

The Chief Minister has directed that non-essential lights will be turned off for one hour tomorrow, March 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the entire campaign. The Secretary for the Environment has been appointed as the focal person for cooperation and coordination in the campaign.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said in her message that it is our collective responsibility to provide a safe and clean environment to the new generation.

She appreciated the efforts of WWF and said that including the environment among the priorities is the need of the hour.

He appealed to the public to actively participate in this national campaign and show their love for the planet by turning off the lights for one hour.

Where did people celebrate Earth Hour for the first time?

Earth Hour is basically a worldwide campaign initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). It was started as a lights-off event in Sydney in 2007.
