Lahoris are getting a long weekend next week, with holidays starting from February 5th.
Pakistan will observe February 5th as Kashmir Day, followed by provincial Basant Day on February 6th, which is a local holiday in Punjab.
Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz wants the residents of Lahore to enjoy their time and relax.
In a tweet, she said, “Punjab will enjoy a long weekend with Kashmir Day on February 5, a provincial Basant holiday on the 6th, followed by Saturday and Sunday. We hope people across Punjab take this time to relax, recharge, and make the most of the break.”

Additionally, Shab-e-Barat will be observed across Pakistan on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
According to reports, the Punjab government is considering declaring a public holiday for Feb 4.
The Sindh government has already announced a holiday for all educational institutions across the province on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
Both public and private schools and colleges will remain closed on the day.
The decision was made by the Sindh School Education Department.
