The Punjab government has announced a major financial relief package for registered workers during the holy month of Ramzan under the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card and Nigehban Ramzan Program 2026, according to reports on Monday.

According to the details, following instructions from the Chief Minister, the Social Security Department has increased the monthly financial assistance for workers from Rs3,000 to Rs10,000 under the Ramzan package.

The initiative is expected to ease the financial burden and problems on workers during Ramzan and provide support for their basic needs.

How to collect Ramzan 2026 financial aid?

According to the reports, the Commissioner of Social Security, Zulfiqar Ali Kharl, stated that over 1.2 million registered workers across the province will receive this assistance through the Maryam Nawaz Ration Card.

In addition to this, the beneficiaries can claim the amount either in cash or in the form of ration supplies during the month of Ramzan.

Zulfiqar Ali Kharl added that all field officers of the Social Security Department are working day and night to ensure smooth distribution of the Maryam Nawaz Ration Cards.

It will provide the workers with easy and timely access to the benefits.

The ration card sale centres are fully operational, and biometric verification is being conducted across the province to ensure transparent and prompt payment.

Officials stated that this initiative will provide direct financial support to workers for purchasing essential items during Ramzan.

The scheme is available to all registered workers in the province and forms part of the Punjab Chief Minister’s social welfare policy.

The move is expected to improve workers’ standard of living and reduce financial stress.

The holy month of Ramzan is expected to begin on February 18 or 19. The final date will depend on the sighting of the crescent moon.

The Government of Pakistan has issued revised working hours of passport offices nationwide during the holy month of Ramzan and has also announced the passport fee information.

According to the official notification, the timings observed from Monday to Thursday are as follows:

The token issuance and public services hours will be observed between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

However, overall office working hours are going to be looked after from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

On Fridays, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, public service and issues of tokens will be available.

Office staff will be performing their duties between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. A daily prayer break has also been scheduled from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM during Ramzan.
