Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday, delivering a comprehensive briefing on the Suthra Punjab cleanliness approved a series of major reforms aimed at modernising waste management system across the province.
In the briefing, the chief minister was informed that for time in history of Punjab innovative electric vehicle will be used for sanitation works. And the CM was briefed that the government has decided to device a strict fine policy on individuals and commercial entities found scattering in streets, markets, and public areas.
During the meeting Chief Minister has directed authorities to make sure that all Suthra Punjab project are project is regularly moved to environment-friendly electric vehicles. She said that the new system would improve efficiency, reduced pollution.The meeting informed the Chief Minister that Punjab will produce revenue and energy from waste under a new waste to value project.
Maryam Nawaz instructed a detail implementation plan for this project to be submitted by mid-January in an innovative move, the provincial government also decided that, for the first time, on Sundays sanitation staff will be deployed to ensure cleanliness operations across every street and neighbourhood of Punjab.
Officials said that Suthra Punjab’s workers will now use innovative mechanical sweepers, replacing traditional brooms. A Vehicle Tracking Management System and live container monitoring have also been activated to ensure transparency and real-time oversight.
Martam Nawaz said that new reforms are nothing short of miracle as the project had started from zero but with the passage of time it improved timely
The briefing further disclosed that employee salaries and all payment systems under Suthra Punjab have now been fully digitized to ensure transparency.
The authorities confirmed that with strict enforcement steps legal action will be taken against to who involved in littering will face penalties with violations processed within 15 days.
