Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited Murree Mall Road on Sunday (today), where tourists gathered to extend her a warm welcome.
The chief minister reviewed ongoing development initiatives aimed at transforming Murree into one of the world’s most beautiful tourist destinations. She interacted with visitors present at the popular tourist spot.
Maryam Nawaz directed the concerned authorities to speed up the pace of development work under way in the hill station, during the visit.
Murree is one of Punjab’s most visited tourist destinations. It attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists throughout the year, particularly during the summer season.
The Punjab government has in recent months focused on improving infrastructure, cleanliness and tourist facilities in the Murree area as part of its broader tourism development agenda.
On the other hand, previously, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also set a target of making Punjab the most artificial intelligence (AI) enabled province in South Asia by 2029.
The announcement came during a meeting between the chief minister and Provincial Advisor for Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Mustafa Dar, where consultations were held on the formal launch of Punjab AI Vision 2029.
Advisor Ali Dar presented a detailed briefing to CM Maryam Nawaz on the performance of the AI Office over the past two months, during the meeting.
