Biometric attendance system in Lahore
The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has introduced a bio-metric attendance system to ensure transparency in the examination process and take action against fake candidates.
According to the Lahore Board spokesperson, the biometric system aims to discourage candidates from appearing in exams under fake identities.
This system was initially implemented as a test in the Matriculation Second Annual Examinations, where more than two hundred students were biometrically verified.
According to the spokesperson, this system has now been fully implemented in the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations as well.
More than 35,000 candidates will participate in the current examination session, all of whose attendance will be recorded biometrically.
