May 9 violence was organised, not emotional: Tariq Fazal Chaudhry

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Sunday said the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory’s report on videos from the May 9 incidents in Peshawar has once again exposed what he called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s false narrative.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said a frame-by-frame forensic analysis confirmed the presence of PTI leadership at the scenes. He stated that this evidence proves the attacks on state institutions did not occur due to an emotional crowd but under the patronage of organised political leadership.

The minister said the attacks on Radio Pakistan and other government installations amounted to a direct assault on the state of Pakistan. He alleged that PTI leaders not only incited violence but later used the unrest for political advantage.

“A party that presents itself as a defender of democracy cannot justify setting state institutions on fire,” he said.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry stressed that the law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of status or influence. He added that no individual or group can be allowed to undermine the dignity of state institutions or challenge the supremacy of the Constitution.
