The Pakistan Met Department predicts thunderstorm in Pakistan tomorrow (Monday).
The areas, including Northeast Balochistan, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and South Punjab, will be the most affected ones.
Flash floods warning was also issued. Landslides and flash flooding could also occur in local nullahs or streams of Kashmir, upper KP, Murree, and Galiyat on April 7 and 8.
In a statement, the Met Office said, “Widespread rain-windstorm/thunderstorm (with isolated heavyfalls and hailstorm) is expected in northeast Balochistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and south Punjab, while partly cloudy weather with rain windstorm/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in Sindh, upper/central Punjab, south/central Balochistan, upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during evening/night of Monday.”
For Sindh, the PMD predicted cloudy weather in most districts of the province, with “rain-windstorm/thunderstorm (isolated heavyfalls and hailstorm)” likely at scattered places in Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Qambar Shahdadkot.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay updated and take necessary precautions as weather conditions develop.
Rescue operation in Balochistan
Earlier, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan conducted operations in rain-affected regions, including Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Loralai, Sibi, and Duki.
FC Balochistan North and the civil administration conducted extensive rescue and relief operations.
Traffic control centres were activated in flood-hit areas to facilitate the public.
FC personnel relocated citizens and travellers to safe locations across various areas and provided food and medical aid to those affected by the floods.
Citizens expressed satisfaction with the relief efforts of FC Balochistan (North) and the civil administration.
