Met office predicts rain in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Much needed rain and snowfall has been forecast in most parts of the country as westerly winds enter from tonight.

According to the Meteorological Department, from tonight till 16 December, several parts of the country are likely to receive rain, while upper regions may witness snowfall.

The department added that from tomorrow till 15 December, snowfall is expected in the hilly areas, which will push temperatures further down.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi are likely to receive rain on Sunday and Monday, while Murree and Galiyat may see snowfall on Sunday.

The Met Office has advised citizens to prepare for colder conditions as temperatures are expected to drop significantly.

KARACHI WEATHER TO GET COLDER

The Met Office has forecast a rise in cold weather in the city from 15 December.

According to the department, the weather will remain dry during the day and cold at night today; however, a notable drop in temperature is expected from 15 December.

The Met Office says the city’s maximum temperature today is likely to reach 31°C, while northeast winds are blowing at 9 km per hour.

Humidity in the air is recorded at 93 percent, and due to high moisture levels, light fog is present in the atmosphere.
