MG has officially revealed its first ever pickup truck in Pakistan, the MG U9, marking a surprising move in a market increasingly dominated by EVs and hybrid technology.
Instead of going electric like many competitors, MG has taken a bold, unconventional step by introducing a turbocharged diesel engine truck.
The launch variant of MG U9 in Pakistan is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. Interestingly, the same version of MG U9 is also available in southern hemisphere country, Australia.
With Pakistan becoming only the second country to receive the U9, the launch signals MG’s interest in entering the country’s competitive diesel truck segment.

In Australia, the U9 competes directly with the Ford Ranger, but in Pakistan, it will go head to head with popular diesel pickups such as:

The MG U9 will be available for showcase and pre-booking on November 12th at the PAPS auto show, with deliveries expected in Q1 2026.

The expected price for MG U9 in Pakistan has not been finalised. Meanwhile its global price for the base variant starts form $50,000.
