Web desk: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on 26 November 2025, targeting militants reportedly affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khwarij, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
During the operation, Pakistani troops engaged the militant location, and after an intense exchange of fire, 22 militants were killed, the ISPR statement confirmed.
A sanitisation operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
The ISPR emphasised that Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism campaign, under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” and approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism in the country.
13 Indian-backed Fitna Al Khwarij Militants Killed in KP
Previously, thirteen militants affiliated with the Indian-backed Fitna Al Khwarij group were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, as per the statement issued by the ISPR.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces and law enforcement agencies conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in the Paharkhel area of Lakki Marwat District. This operation followed reports of militant presence.
During the operation, troops engaged the militants in intense gunfire, resulting in the elimination of ten extremists.
Another intelligence-driven operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan District, where three militants were neutralised in a subsequent firefight.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants. These had been involved in attacks against security forces, law enforcement personnel, and civilians.
Sanitisation operations are ongoing to locate and eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam.” As approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, the plan aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
