President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the bestowal of military awards to 1,989 members of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces in celebration of Pakistan Day.
The decision came on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, in accordance with Article 259(2) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
The military awards include 23 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), 100 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), 136 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), 11 Sitara-i-Basalat, 475 Tamgha-i-Basalat, and 130 Imtiazi Sanad.
Furthermore, 175 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-I, 319 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-II, and 620 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-III have also been approved.
Armed forces extend congratulations to the country on Pakistan Day
Earlier, on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of Pakistan Day, the Armed Forces of Pakistan conveyed their sincere congratulations to the nation.
In their messages on Pakistan Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, together with Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, expressed their heartfelt congratulations to the nation.
Burj Khalifa lights up in honour of Pakistan Day
In a remarkable display of unity and festivity, Pakistan’s national flag illuminated the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, in honor of Pakistan Day.
The famous skyscraper in Dubai glimmered in shades of green and white, proudly displaying the crescent and star as part of the celebrations for March 23.
This tribute attracted the attention of both visitors and locals, many of whom congregated in the Downtown Dubai area to experience the event.
