A case has been registered over the alleged abduction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial minister Fazal Shakoor, while a petition seeking his recovery has also been filed with the Peshawar High Court.
The FIR was registered at Chamkani Police Station on the complaint of the minister’s brother. According to the FIR, Fazal Shakoor was travelling from Mera Prang in Charsadda towards the provincial assembly when some armed and civilian-dressed individuals allegedly attacked his vehicle near the M-1 Motorway toll plaza.
The complaint states that Fazal Shakoor, his driver Qaiser Khan and his security guard have been missing since the alleged incident.
Separately, a petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court against the alleged disappearance of the provincial minister. The petition was submitted through lawyer Bashir Wazir.
The petition maintains that Fazal Shakoor was allegedly abducted near the Peshawar Motorway toll plaza after unidentified individuals attacked his vehicle and allegedly took him away.
The petitioner has requested the high court to order the recovery of Fazal Shakoor and direct the relevant authorities to take necessary steps regarding his alleged disappearance.
The police department has been made a respondent in the petition.
Authorities have yet to provide further details regarding the minister’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.
