Pakistan Launches First-Ever Mobile Police Stations and Licensing Units

Web desk: For the first time, mobile police stations and licensing units have been prepared for the convenience of the public.

Through it, citizens will now be able to get the facility of getting a driving license and registering cases at their doorstep.

According to DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir, 118 vehicles are being prepared as mobile police stations and licensing units for the entire Punjab, including Lahore.

Mobile Police Station & Licensing Unit Project

DIG Waqas Nazir said that after the inauguration ceremony of the Punjab Chief Minister, the process of distributing these vehicles to all the districts has started.

So far, 34 vans have been prepared and are being sent to different districts, according to the reports.

Four counters have been set up in these mobile units. Some of which are reserved for issuing driving licenses, renewals and learner licenses, while other counters are reserved for registering FIRs.

Waqas Nazir said that citizens will be able to get their learner, regular and renewal licenses through the mobile licensing unit.

It was further reported that the mobile police stations will be connected to their respective police stations through a modern GPS.

This way, transparency and connectivity will be maintained in the registration of any case or report.

Citizens will have access to all the facilities of the police station front desk in these mobile police stations.

According to Muhammad Waqas Nazir, these mobile units will be sent to different areas daily as per the schedule. So that as many people as possible can benefit.

Focus on Women’s Empowerment: Pink Vehicles Reserved for Women

Out of the 118 vehicles being prepared, 20 per cent of the vehicles will be of the colour pink. These have been reserved for women so that they can easily get these facilities at their universities and workplaces.

He said that, as per the orders of the Chief Minister of Punjab, every possible step is being taken to empower women and bring justice to their doorsteps.

DIG Waqas Nazir said that “We will 100 per cent ensure that women have easy access to their rights and facilities. So that justice and service really reach the doorsteps of the people.”
