Indian media in turmoil, Modi has nothing left to do: Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that Pakistan played a key role in preventing a major global conflict. He added that Pakistan’s efforts are being praised worldwide, and even India has acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic success.

While speaking in the National Assembly on Wednesday, he stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is finished and has nothing left to do. He added that the Indian media will continue to struggle, noting that Pakistan has defeated an opponent five times stronger. India is still trying to restore its lost prestige, he added.

Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan’s growing international prestige is unprecedented in the country’s 78-year history, leaving India far behind.

He emphasised that Pakistan is building a great legacy in diplomacy. ‘We were successful in stopping a major war, and there has been hardly a moment in Pakistan’s history as proud as this. Our role is being recognised and praised across the globe,” he said.

Khawaja Asif also noted that European and Muslim countries are commending Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for their efforts. “Even India is admitting that Pakistan has achieved success at the diplomatic level,” he added.

Mahmood Khan Achakzai lauds govt initiative

During the National Assembly proceedings, the federal government has formally requested that the opposition postpone its planned protest. Speaking to Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Federal Minister Azam Nazir Tarar emphasised the importance of sending a strong message of unity and solidarity for Pakistan in the current situation.

In response, Mahmood Khan Achakzai praised the initiative, saying, ‘Who would be foolish enough not to be happy that Pakistan has received this opportunity.  He called the move commendable and assured the government of his unconditional cooperation.

Commenting on the global situation, he said that US President Donald Trump had an ego problem and assumed that Iran would surrender; however, Iran “upheld the banner of Islam.” He added that a president should not speak about ending civilisation.

On the other hand, Indian analyst Ashok Swain has stated that, instead of isolating Pakistan internationally, Modi has ended up isolating India.

In a statement, Swain noted that Pakistan’s effective diplomacy in securing the ceasefire has demonstrated that it also has the full trust of China.

He added that Pakistan already had the confidence of the United States and Iran in the ceasefire negotiations, which serves as proof of its diplomatic success. According to Ashok Swain, while Narendra Modi aimed to isolate Pakistan on the international stage, the outcome has been the opposite. He further remarked that Pakistan deserves a Nobel Prize for its diplomatic efforts, as the Iran-US ceasefire has been welcomed globally.
