Addressing a gathering today, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that new administrative units will definitely be formed, adding that he is the biggest supporter of an Islamabad province.
He said no single person, government or political party should have the final say, stressing that the system needs to be reset as governments keep changing.

Naqvi also said that people like Zohran Mamdani and Muhammad Sadiq will continue to emerge, regardless of what is done.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Islamabad is the only city that receives no share from any provincial budget, questioning whether its citizens are treated as equal citizens of Pakistan. He said that Islamabad should be considered if new administrative units are created.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi further said that the decision on creating new administrative units should be left to the people of Pakistan. He urged respect for the constitutional right of citizens to decide whether new administrative units should be created.
Mohsin Naqvi also referenced Hamid Mir’s statement on the creation of new provinces. He agrees that the country should consider the formation of new provinces.
Mohsin Naqvi also clarified that his remarks about resetting the system do not target any political party or the current government. He said that he is referring to the system that has been running for 79 years. He adds that if the country cannot deliver after 79 years, a system reset is necessary.
