Renowned actress Momina Iqbal has praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz saying she wishes the chief minister would come to Karachi so that the city’s situation could also improve.

A video clip of the actress has gone viral on social media in which she lauds Punjab saying that the situation in the province is currently quite good.

During the conversation Faisal Quraishi asked Momina Iqbal to say something on behalf of the people of Karachi as well and to make an appeal to the rulers adding that the authorities do not listen to them and might listen to her instead.

Responding to Faisal Quraishi Momina Iqbal said that she has already asked whether there is anyone to represent the people of Karachi. She added that since she now spends most of her time living in Karachi the city has become her own as well and she faces several issues here too.

Earlier, Pakistani actress Javeria Saud openly expressed too her praise of Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for what she called “exceptional work” by the Chief Minister in the province, while also calling on citizens to take responsibility for looking after public facilities.

Speaking in a recent interview, Javeria said that Maryam Nawaz is doing “very good work” and credited her for visible changes in the condition of Punjab, especially in Lahore.

However, she emphasised that it is not just the government’s responsibility. According to the actress, public cooperation is equally required to ensure a lasting change.

She highlighted that while the government of Punjab installs public facilities like trash cans, some people steal and sell them. She also raised the problem of gutter lids being taken off and sold, which posed risks to the public.

“The government keeps spending on public welfare, but people also have to take care of these things” she said emphasising that there is a need for collective responsibility for progress.
