Harrassment case: Momina Iqbal appeals Maryam Nawaz for help

Star actress Momina Iqbal has claimed that she and her family are facing serious threats to their safety from a Pakistan Muslim League (N) MPA.

The actress, known for her impressive performances in dramas including Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, Ehd-e-Wafa and Do Kinaray, said she has been subjected to prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying, mental torture, and life threats.

In her Instagram story, Momina alleged that the harassment was linked to an MPA associated with Pakistan Muslim League (N). She further said that despite repeatedly reporting the matter to the Federal Investigation Agency, NCCIA, and Punjab Police, no effective action had been taken due to the political influence of the individual involved.

The actress also alleged that instead of ensuring justice, attempts were made to suppress her complaints and discourage a fair investigation. According to her, the situation worsened after she spoke publicly and pursued legal action, with threats allegedly extending to her family members as well.

Momina appealed to authorities to immediately conduct an impartial investigation, provide protection to her family, and take strict legal action against those responsible for harassment and intimidation.

She also appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, expressing hope that unbiased and lawful action would be taken against anyone found involved in abuse of power or obstruction of justice.

It is important to mention here that Momina Iqbal earlier praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz saying she wishes the chief minister would come to Karachi so that the city’s situation could also improve.

A video clip of the actress gone viral on social media in which she lauds Punjab saying that the situation in the province is currently quite good.

During the conversation Faisal Quraishi asked Momina Iqbal to say something on behalf of the people of Karachi as well and to make an appeal to the rulers adding that the authorities do not listen to them and might listen to her instead.

Responding to Faisal Quraishi, Momina Iqbal said that she has already asked whether there is anyone to represent the people of Karachi. She added that since she now spends most of her time living in Karachi the city has become her own as well and she faces several issues here too.
