The cost of mobile connectivity in Pakistan has increased over the last year, as telecom operators raise package prices and reduce data allowances.
Over the past year, the mobile package and the supercard prices in Pakistan have been increasing.
This has put extra pressure on common people. Supercards that once cost around Rs800 are now ranging between Rs1,400 and Rs1,900.
Telecom companies have also raised prices several times. At the same time, they have reduced the amount of data in many offers.
Reports suggest that users say social media and night bundles are used to charge extra without any clear notice.
Among the operators, Jazz’s monthly Super Duper package now costs more than Rs1,000.

Consumers have raised concerns. Many say companies are charging more but not giving full data.
Telecom operators say the increases are due to higher electricity and operational costs.
PTA commits to consumer protection
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed all mobile operators to get clear consent from users before activating any Value Added Services packages.
The move came after complaints about new tariffs.
In a statement issued on Sunday, PTA advised users to regularly check their active subscriptions through their operator’s official apps. This can help avoid unwanted charges.
The authority said it is aware of concerns shared on social media about tariffs, service quality, and unauthorised deductions.
It said it remains committed to protecting consumers and ensuring transparency in the telecom sector.
PTA also announced the Mobile Tariff Regulations 2025 to create a structured system for tariffs.
